I wasn't sure how I was going to feel about this shelf system when I was ordering it, but the traditional shelf that goes behind the toilet just didn't have enough space, so I went for it.I needed a shelf that was braced so I wouldn't need to screw it into the wall, and this one has springs in it so it compresses between the ceiling and floor. I have 9 foot ceilings, and still had a few poles left over after installing this shelf.Assembly was pretty simple, and installation was not difficult. The shelves are set up so the upright poles can be placed closer to the wall, and being able to adjust the height of the shelves is fantastic! It is also really cool that I was able to adjust the width of the shelves to fit the space available! I set the top shelf pretty high and keep my stuff up there, letting my wife (who is a bit shorter than me) have the lower shelves for her stuff and general bathroom goods. There is plenty of space, and unless I actually try to recline while I'm on the toilet, there is no chance of hitting my head on the bottom shelf. The only (minor) complaint I have is that the crossbars that you set your stuff on are spaced apart pretty far. I took the plastic shelf liners from my old bathroom shelf and used those on three of the shelves. We also keep a lot of our stuff in baskets, which sit well on these shelves. We keep a small trash can, a toilet brush, and a plunger by the toilet, and the old shelf forced us to move all of this stuff forward away from the wall, but when we installed this new shelf we were able to move all of the stuff back closer to the wall again because it only has two upright poles which are close to the wall. It's funny how much less crowded the bathroom appears now.We really like this shelf system and will be buying another one for the upstairs bathroom!
